The Board of Directors for FBC MUD 151 met for its monthly meeting on May 14, 2026. Here are the key updates:
2026 Directors Election and Board Vacancy
Following the 2026 Directors Election, the Board has reorganized its leadership positions. The
new officers are as follows:
● President: Keith Gier
● Vice President: Jay Kelly
● Secretary: Cory McFarland
● Assistant Secretary: Jared Ciarella
Director Shipley recently resigned from the MUD Board to focus on commitments to the Katy
ISD School Board. The District extends its sincere gratitude to Director Shipley for years of
dedicated service to our community and wishes them the best in their ongoing public service.
Board Vacancy
With Director Shipley's departure, we are now seeking a Firethorne resident to fill the vacancy
on the Board of Directors.

Community Parks and Landscaping Maintenance
Ongoing efforts to keep Firethorne beautiful and safe continue. Recent maintenance and
enhancement activities include:
● Storm Recovery: Dedicated crews have finished clearing debris and downed trees from
recent storms. Additionally, tree canopies in our park areas have been raised and
trimmed.
● Landscape Enhancements: New seasonal color plantings are currently being installed
to brighten our shared spaces. Maintenance teams have also trimmed back branches
along community soundwalls.
● Community Improvements: We are happy to report that the sidewalk extension near
Daylily is now complete. Work is also progressing on the repair and reinstallation of the
sunshades at Draycutt.
● Lakeside Care: To maintain our community's appeal, the Board approved $3,000 for the
professional pressure washing of columns and pillars along Lake Firethorne.
Infrastructure and Drainage Updates
● Mowing Operations: Routine mowing of the east and west detention ponds has been
completed.
● Drainage Channel Rehabilitation: Slope and top repairs for the west drainage channel
were completed in April, followed by the installation of fresh sod.
● Pedestrian Safety: The District continues to coordinate with Fort Bend County
regarding crosswalk striping and the monitoring of safety agreements.
District Security Report
Our patrol deputies remain active in keeping the neighborhood secure. Their activity report for
April is as follows:
● Total Patrol Hours: 133 hours
● Resident Contacts: 18 direct interactions
● Offenses Processed: 12 incidents
