The Board of Directors for Fort Bend County Municipal Utility District No. 151 (FBCMUD 151) would like to inform all residents that the Lift Station No. 1 Rehabilitation and Diesel Generator Addition project is preparing to enter its next phase of construction.
This phase involves critical work within the lift station’s wet well. This essential infrastructure upgrade will enhance the station’s reliability and longevity, ensuring continued efficient operation.
To facilitate this work, the project team will implement a bypass pumping setup, which is a temporary measure that allows the necessary construction work to proceed without interrupting the overall wastewater system. However, as part of this setup, some sanitary sewer lines upstream of the lift station will remain fuller than usual.
Residents in the vicinity of Lift Station No. 1 should be aware that this change may result in increased sewer odors for the duration of the bypass pumping. While the project team will take all possible steps to minimize these impacts, some level of odor is expected until normal operations resume.
According to the contractor’s current schedule, the bypass pumping phase is scheduled to begin during the first week of January and continue through mid- February. Once this stage is completed, regular flow patterns will be restored, and any odors should subside.
The Lift Station No. 1 Rehabilitation and Diesel Generator Addition project is an important investment in the District’s infrastructure. While temporary inconveniences may arise, these rehabilitation projects are vital for ensuring the long-term functionality and reliability of the wastewater system.
We appreciate the community’s patience and understanding as this work is carried out. For questions or concerns regarding the project, residents are encouraged to reach out to the District through the “Contact Us” link provided here.
