Some Firethorne residents may have noticed lower than normal water pressure in the mornings during peak water usage hours. According to the District’s operator, Inframark, there are currently no issues with the water distribution system. Inframark is aware of the resident reports and is actively monitoring the situation.
The low pressure in the mornings is caused, in part, by a higher-than-normal use of the water, likely due to irrigation scheduling of residents’ homes. To avoid similar stress on the system throughout the summer, it is suggested residents adjust their irrigation timers to water before sunrise or after sunset, every other day or every couple of days. Watering during daylight hours can cause waste as evaporation and ambient heat affect the efficiency of irrigation, requiring more water to effectively hydrate the lawn.
If any resident experiences water pressure loss or impact, please immediately reach out to Inframark, 7:30am–5pm Monday–Friday, at (281) 579-4500 or MUDCustomerService@inframark.com; Inframark after-hour emergency number is (281) 398-8211.
