At the end of November, to signal the start of the holiday season, Firethorne residents received a visit from Santa and the Katy Fire Department during their annual Santa Tours, as they made their way through Fort Bend County Municipal Utility District No. 151. This year, Firethorne was the first stop on the annual event, spanning two nights of cheer.
Your FBCMUD 151 Directors Shipley and McFarland were happy to participate this year as the resident Santas, riding on the truck and tossing candy to the neighborhood children. During the routes, residents also shared their good will by donating non-perishable foods and toys.
“On Monday November 29th, 2021 the Katy Fire Department kicked off its annual Santa Tours in the Firethorne area with the assistance of some of the FBCMUD 151 family and board members, and the Firethorne fun continued the next night on November 30th. It was a great success and fun was had by all. The Katy Fire Department would like to thank the residents of Firethorne for the gracious donations of food and toys. An estimated total of over 3,000 pounds of food and toys where collected,” said Chad Dismukes, Assistant Fire Chief, Katy Fire Department
