Heavy Rainfall Expected Friday Evening Through Saturday

Your FBCMUD 151 Board of Directors would like to update you as to the following caution alert from the county and Weather Forecast Office.

The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Flash Flood Warning from 12 p.m. Friday to 12 p.m. Saturday. Heavy rainfall between 3-6 inches with isolated totals of 10 inches is expected in Harris and surrounding counties beginning Friday afternoon through Saturday morning. Dangerous driving conditions expected overnight and into Saturday. Street flooding is likely and run-off will cause water levels on bayous and rivers to rise.

Please exercise caution. Observe the following guides:

DRIVE SAFELY

  • If you must travel never drive into high water and use extreme caution at underpasses and low-lying areas where water accumulates.
  • Always remember to Turn Around, Don’t Drown!® DO NOT DRIVE through high water and DO NOT DRIVE AROUND BARRICADES!
  • Just 2 feet of water can sweep your vehicle away.

Additionally, the FBCMUD 151 Board of Directors will continue to update this post with any relevant news regarding the rainfall or changes in the warning status as we hear them.

Lastly, during flash flooding there can be debris that clogs storm drains and block ditches. In the event you observe water backing up near drains and ditches, please contact your operator, Inframark at 281-398-8211.
