The Board of Directors of Fort Bend Municipal Utility District No. 151 met on Monday, September 22nd. Below is a summary of the items discussed during the meeting.
Public Comment
A private company was reported setting up for-profit picnics in the public park. The District’s legal team will be sending a notice requesting they stop this activity.
Bookkeeping
Financial report was received and approved.
2025 Tax Rate
The Board approved a new tax rate of $0.72 per $100 valuation, down from last year’s $0.78.
Engineering & Projects
TXDOT/FM 1463 Sound Wall & Road Widening – Overall project is estimated to be completed in early 2027.
Lift Station No. 1 Rehab & Generator – Awaiting delivery of transfer switch.
Sanitary Sewer Rehab (2025) – Contractor scheduled to mobilize next week.
2024 Wastewater Treatment Plant Improvements – Initial prep underway, visible work expected in March 2026.
Drainage Rehabilitation – Engineering has requested quotes to address the regrade behind Lindsey Elementary and the Firethorne West Detention Basin bank restoration.
Crosswalk Lighting (South Firethorne Rd.) – Discussions ongoing with Fort Bend County.
Lift Station No. 2 Rehab – Project start scheduled for spring 2026.
Reclaimed Water Pump Station – Variable flow valve installation solved “water hammer” issue.
South Firethorne Road Crosswalk Radar Speed Signs – Board approved reset and troubleshooting by contractor.
Crosswalk Repainting – Engineer will bring quotes to next meeting.
Annexation Matters
Developer representative presented information on potential developments and annexation. The Board requested more data; no decisions made.
Parks & Landscaping
Shade sail at Roseybill Park to be repaired.
Hardware replacement at Monarch Terrace playground approved.
Irrigation at West Detention currently off – landscaping team investigating.
District to coordinate with Fort Bend County for “No Parking” signs at District parks.
Winter Rye grass to be seeded at parks in October.
Trail Enhancements Phase 1 under permit review; Phase 2 schedule coming soon.
Operations
9/20 Water Service Issue – Booster pumps at Water Plant shut off during power outage; resolved within 2 hours. Electrician investigated and recommends installing a new UPS system at Water Plant.
Communications
Emergency alert timing discussed; improvement options will be presented next meeting.
The District’s autopay system for water and sewer services will be changing soon. All residents will need to re-enroll. Step-by-step instructions will be shared before the update takes effect.
Security Cameras
Installation of Flock License Plate Readers moving forward; coordination underway with engineering.
Park security cameras being evaluated by Flock and District Engineer for best placement and power source.
