May 8th Park Meeting Summary

The Board of Fort Bend MUD 151 met on Thursday, May 8th. Below is a quick summary of the items discussed during the meeting.
PUBLIC COMMENT
The Board of Directors received a comment regarding trash not being discarded properly by park guests at the Canyon Oak park.. In response, The Board of Directors confirmed the park cleaning schedule and requested that a post be placed on the website regarding park cleanliness.
SECURITY
The Board was made aware of the non-operational lights at the mailboxes on Prairie Dancer. Electricity has been turned off to the area due to ongoing work at the adjacent lift station which is scheduled to be complete in late June. In response, Inframark was directed to place a sign at the mailboxes alerting residents that the non-operational lights are due to ongoing construction in the area and that they will be operational again once construction has ended.
The Board discussed the agreement with FLOCK for the installation of FLOCK license plate readers and cameras in the district. An agreement with FLOCK is currently being negotiated for the license plate readers and the Board has requested a proposal from FLOCK for the cameras. Additional FLOCK cameras are being considered for other areas including pocket parks.
The Board discussed parking issues near the mailboxes in the District parks.
The board also discussed resident concerns about long-term vehicle parking at the pocket parks throughout the community. Short-term parking only signs will be considered after legal review.
PARKS & LANDSCAPE
Park maintenance is currently underway. The flower beds have been filled in and a shade structure is in the process of being patched. Playground equipment and a bench has been ordered and will be installed when it is received. There is a lamppost that is currently on the ground on South Firethorne just West of Wolman Elementary and the HOA has been notified.
COMMUNICATIONS
In an effort to keep residents informed and increase transparency, The Board directed the Communications Consultant to continue to post meeting recaps after each meeting to the website and Facebook. In an effort to increase public awareness, the Board also emphasized the importance of promoting the website and District operated Facebook page via social media.
