The Board of Directors of Fort Bend County Municipal Utility District No. 151 met on Thursday, January 8th. The following is a summary of the items discussed:
Security Matters:
On-site Protection LLC delivered a proposal for enhanced physical security presence in the District. The Board will continue exploring budgeting options for this.
Engineering & Construction Updates:
TXDOT Sound Wall / FM 1463 Road Widening: The overall project is estimated to be completed in late 2026.
South Firethorne Road Crosswalk Lighting: Delays are occurring due to difficulty obtaining a permit from Fort Bend County. Consultants are exploring options to expedite the process.
South Firethorne Road Crosswalk Striping: The Fort Bend County Road & Bridge Department acknowledged the striping request, though residents should note the County informed the District that this request could take 6-8 months to be addressed.
South Firethorne Road Crosswalk Radar Signs: The two new radar signs were installed and are working properly.
2025 Drainage Channel Rehabilitation: Nearing completion.
Shoreline Erosion: The Board continues to review and discuss design options and an estimate for rehabilitating the shorelines at Firethorne West Detention, East Lake No. 3, and East Lake No. 4.
Annexation Discussion: District Engineers met with developers for the land along FM 1463 to discuss plans and utility extension designs.
Parks & Landscaping
West Detention Pond Parking Lot: Improvements are being coordinated, with a more detailed schedule expected at the next meeting.
Tree Trimming: The Board approved using this year’s annual tree trimming budget for the area near and around the West Detention pond.
West Detention Mainline: The Board reviewed a proposal for a new mainline at the West Detention. The Board did not taka action on the proposal at this meeting.
Communications & Website
Alerts Speed Increase: The District’s consultants are working with the text alerts provider to improve the timeliness of text alerts delivery.
District Facebook Page: Residents should monitor the District Facebook page for regular updates on projects and important notices.
The next Board meeting is scheduled for January 26th at 12 PM. The meeting agenda and full details will be shared once finalized.
