August 25th Regular Meeting Summary
August 29, 2025
The Board of Directors of Fort Bend Municipal Utility District No. 151 met on Monday, August 25th. Below is a summary of the items discussed during the meeting.
Budget & Finances
The Board reviewed and approved the budget for next year.
A public hearing on the 2026 tax rate will be held at the next Board meeting on September 22, 2025.
Lakes & Fountains
The middle fountain at East Lake #2 (the oldest in the District at 14 years old) will be replaced.
Fire Protection
The City of Katy is discussing changes to fire coverage. Discussions are ongoing — the Board of Directors of Fort Bend County MUD 151 is committed to ensuring fair coverage and cost-sharing before any decisions are made.
Operations & Water Service
Repairs were recently completed at the water plant to keep operations running smoothly.
The District’s autopay system for water and sewer services will change soon, and all residents will need to re-enroll in order to access auto-pay.
We will provide step-by-step instructions through news posts, alerts, and social media when the change takes effect.
Engineering
Board received and discussed an updated feasibility study for 12.103 Acres on FM 1463 & Cane Island Pkwy which included revision to NewQuest and Hanover’s development plans. The Board discussed and decided to not move forward with the project due to the forecasted increase in water and wastewater system capacity.
The Board approved solar lighting for the new crosswalk at South Firethorne Road. Additional options for lighting around East Lakes will be presented at the next meeting.
Parks & Landscaping
Dead rose bushes throughout the District will be removed and healthy ones treated. Replacement landscaping will follow.

Security
Security upgrades are moving forward.
Contracts for License Plate Readers (LPRs) have been approved. FLOCK is moving forward with this project.
Live video cameras will be installed near mailbox clusters.
Looking Ahead
The Board continues to work on long-term projects including drainage improvements, lift station upgrades, and wastewater treatment plant enhancements.
