Fort Bend County MUD No. 151 (FBMUD 151) engineer, Jones & Carter, Inc., has provided the following information that residents of Firethorne might find helpful when out and about near construction in the neighborhood and surrounding areas during the holidays.

West Firethorne

Construction of West Firethorne Sections 16, 17, 18, 19, and West Firethorne Road is currently underway. The construction includes installation of utilities, water lines, sanitary sewer lines, drainage, roadways, and paving to serve approximately 300 lots. There will be construction vehicles traveling on North, South, and West Firethorne for the duration of these projects. For your safety and safety of others, please respect the traffic signs and barricades and avoid traveling by foot or vehicle on West Firethorne while construction remains underway. Construction is anticipated to be completed for all projects, including West Firethorne Road, during the summer of 2020.

Jordan Ranch

Fulshear MUD 3A (Jordan Ranch) is adjacent to the western boundary of Firthorne. Fulshear MUD 3A is constructing a detention pond to accommodate the storm run-off for development within their boundaries. The detention pond will convey stormwater into FBMUD 151’s West Drainage Channel.

Some Firethorne residents have expressed concern about the inbound stormwater taxing FBMUD 151’s system. Jones & Carter, Inc. has confirmed that the drainage channel in FBMUD 151 was designed to convey flow from the property located in Fulshear MUD 3A, and reports that the ongoing improvements to Fulshear MUD 3A’s drainage and detention facilities will actually reduce the total amount of flow coming into FBMUD 151’s drainage channel.
